Job Summary: Production Associates in Head Protection assemble suspensions and package hard hats, ensuring high-quality standards for customer delivery. They also ensure warning labels, bags and bag print are correct pertaining to hat styles and order specifications.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Promote and maintain a safe, organized work environment
- Prompt and reliable attendance
- Work required overtime schedules
- Read work instructions
- Identify and sort parts, hat styles, brands, colors and suspension types
- Assemble headband suspensions
- Move part gaylords and totes to designated work areas
- Basic operation of a computer
- Obtain necessary information to complete orders
- Operate pallet jack
- Operate packaging machinery
- Operate pad printing equipment and ink mixing operations, if needed
- Inspect product for quality
- Pack finished product for shipment
- Keeping pace with automated equipment
- Verify that product and quantity are correct per order specifications
- Apply proper order labeling to shipment boxes
- Communicate, troubleshoot and provide feedback to co-workers, Team Leaders, engineers, management and others as necessary
- Clean work areas and machinery applying 6S methods
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must have good attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Must be able to work at a fast pace
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements:
The physical nature of the job includes but is not limited to seeing, handling, eye-hand-foot coordination, ordinary communication, ordinary hearing, turning, twisting, finger dexterity, feeling, sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 30 pounds, carrying up to 30 pounds and pushing up to 15 pounds.
